how to install drupal with xampp

Hi there. I am a noob in both xampp and drupal.
I need to install drupal and i had installed xampp in my computer, running openSuSe 10.3
I face the problem during installation process:
When i open install.php, it shows
Drupal database setup
The following error must be resolved before you can continue the installation process:
The Drupal installer requires write permissions to ./sites/default/settings.php during the installation process.
I had look through most of the website provide the guidance of the installation process but i still cannot do that.
can you guys help me please? I hope that you all can provide the solution as detail as possible and it is rather urgent.
