Getting Hands-On With Drupal Features - James Sansbury
When:
Tuesday, April 13, 2010 - 6:30pm
In this session, James Sansbury of Sprocket talked about creating, building and extending Drupal "Features". A Feature is a sort of wrapper module around Drupal functionality. For instance, a Blog feature might contain a blog node type, a view of blog entries, an image cache preset for an entry image, and all associated permissions. The Features module then exports all that functionality into a module that you can then use on any Drupal site.
James talked us through creating a basic feature, and then has shown how to provision that feature to a live site.
James, thank you for the excellent presentation on Features -- this is great info for every Drupal developer's toolkit. And Utzu, the new format combining the PowerPoint and the the video from the meeting is a terrific addition. Thanks for posting.
